Personal Data

Your data & Picturide
Our commitments, from athletes to athletes

Your data is yours

At Picturide, we believe you should be in control of your data. This is the direction we are taking, keeping in mind that we still have a way to go. Apart from the few legal obligations we are subject to, only you can agree to your data being used by Picturide. We commit to never selling or renting this data. If we sometimes rely on subcontractors, they only act on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions.

Our communications are tailored to your sporting life

One of our priorities is to offer you services and content that fit you: the right message, at the right time, through the right channel—and never without your consent. Indeed, data related to your purchases and your journeys on our website help us understand you better and therefore deliver the right messages and offers at the right time, whether by email and notifications or when you connect to our website picturide.com.

How do we use your data?

Picturide Coaching Service

Important: At Picturide, we want the human element to remain at the center of your progression. This is why coaching is provided exclusively by qualified professionals, and never by an Artificial Intelligence.

Data controller

The data you entrust to us is processed by Picturide, 8 rue Roger Mayer 76600 Le Havre

Processed data

We process the data necessary to support your sporting activities: your email address, date of birth, your last name, first name, weight, height, your notes-comments, history of your board sports practice, and the equipment you use, as well as the metrics from smartwatches.

Specific to the use of smartwatches (Garmin, Apple Watch...): If you connect your watch, we will solely use your GPS data to display the track of your route on a map and calculate a few key indicators of your session (e.g.: number of jibes in wingfoil).

Retention period

Your personal data is kept as long as you practice a regular activity. Your data will be deleted 2 years after your last activity.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or even deletion of your personal data by withdrawing your consent.

Recipients of the data

Your data is intended for the Picturide development team. Technical subcontractors responsible for data hosting or sending notifications and emails may process your personal data. Their access is strictly governed by Picturide. They are not allowed to use your data for purposes other than performing the service.

Upon judicial requisition, this data may also be transferred to authorities (police, gendarmerie, etc...)

Transfer outside the EU

At Picturide, we do everything we can to protect your personal data by following European regulations. Your data is stored on servers. As part of sending email notifications, some of your data is transferred outside the EU.

Legal basis for processing

Your personal data is processed only after obtaining your consent.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation

For the sake of transparency and in accordance with our partners' standards, we inform you that the Picturide application is supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for a very specific and strictly limited function.

To what extent do we use AI?
AI is used solely as a writing assistant to structure your qualitative reports (feelings, maneuvers practiced, etc.), based on:
- your own feedback (voice notes or text entered directly by you after a session).
- never on raw or processed data from your smartwatch (Garmin, Suunto or Apple).

These performance data (GPS tracks, movement data) are analyzed exclusively by our internal algorithms and shared with your coaches — as they are essential to their technical analysis — but are never transmitted to external AI tools. Our priority is to ensure that your experience remains human and secure, while offering you practical help to formalize your feedback.

AI is not used to coach you and does not perform any profiling or fully automated decision-making producing legal effects or significantly affecting you.

More information about transfers

Did you know? Your data may be transferred outside the European Union. Don’t worry—these transfers are carried out with the greatest care. We explain...

Why do we transfer your data?

The transfer of your data outside the European Union is mainly explained by the location of our subcontractors.

Indeed, in order to offer you a quality service, we decided to outsource certain operations to specialized providers who have real expertise in their fields (an example? Hosting). And some of these providers are established outside the European Union.

How are these data transfers governed?

Whatever the countries where our subcontractors are established, we always select them with the greatest vigilance. This is especially the case regarding how your data is secured. These subcontractors act only on Picturide’s instructions and at no time use your data for anything other than performing the services we entrust to them. A contract is systematically concluded between Picturide and the selected subcontractors.

When our providers are established outside the European Union, we make it a priority to select them in countries whose legal framework provides a satisfactory level of protection.

The list of these countries is available here:

https://www.cnil.fr/fr/la-protection-des-donnees-dans-le-monde

When this is not possible, we frame these transfers with appropriate legal mechanisms, including the signing of additional contractual clauses specifically designed for this type of transfer.

How to know if your data is transferred?

If you want to know whether your data is transferred, you can refer to the section « Transfers outside the EU » in the description of the relevant processing activity.

Your rights

Entrusting us with your data does not mean you lose control of it—quite the opposite! A bit of explanation...

You have several rights. Some apply to all processing of data concerning you; others depend on the type of processing carried out and, more specifically, on the legal basis it relies on (contract, legal obligation, consent, legitimate interest, etc.).

Below you will find a brief description of these rights as well as how to exercise them.

To know precisely which rights apply to the processing concerning you, refer to the section « your rights » in the description of the relevant processing activity.

Right of access:

This right allows you to ask us questions about the nature of the processing concerning you (type of data, source of collection, etc.). It also allows you to request a copy of all information concerning you. This right applies regardless of the legal basis for the processing concerning you.

Right to rectification:

Moving, a new sport... many situations can lead you to update your data. The right to rectification is precisely for that. This right applies regardless of the legal basis for the processing concerning you.

Right to object:

This is the right to say «no!», the right not to be included in data processing or no longer be included in it. This right applies when the processing is based on Picturide’s «legitimate interest», provided that this interest is not «overriding».

Right to erasure:

This is the right to be forgotten... and that’s only normal. Picturide has no reason to keep your data beyond what is necessary. All data concerning you is therefore automatically deleted when the retention period announced at the time of collection expires.

When your data is processed on the basis of your consent or on Picturide’s legitimate interest (non-overriding), you can obtain early deletion of your data. How? Simply let us know that you wish to withdraw your consent or exercise your right to object to the processing.

Right to data portability:

This right allows you to request the data concerning you, provided that it is processed on the basis of your consent or a contractual relationship. What’s the difference with the right of access? We are obliged to provide the data in a format that is technically usable by you or by another entity than Picturide.

Right to restriction:

This right is complementary to some of the other rights described above. In fact, it allows you to "freeze" your data after a rectification request, for example. If there is doubt about the lawfulness of one of our processing operations, this right would allow you to ask our teams to stop processing your data, without deleting it. Finally, if you want to establish, exercise or defend your rights in court, you could also request, thanks to this right, to "freeze" your personal data. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us!

You can exercise your rights by contacting us through one of the means below:

  • Send us a message via the form on our website: Customer support

  • By post: Picturide – 8 rue Roger Mayer 76600 Le Havre

So that your request can be handled as efficiently as possible, don’t forget to:

  • tell us which processing operation(s) your request concerns

  • tell us which right(s) you wish to exercise

  • provide us with any information allowing us to ensure that the author of the request is indeed the person concerned by the processing.

If, despite all our efforts, you believe that your rights have not been respected, please note that you have the option of contacting the CNIL:
